All the fun little things we all enjoyed on a weekend. Where do they come from? The answer is you!! If you do not make Agape there is no Agape for a weekend. So start coming up with new and fresh ideas. Make more than one kind. Some one is waiting for you to Bless them with the special Agape that God has told you to make. Make enough Agape that everyone can be part of the Blessings. If you make just enough for the pilgrims, than we cannot use it. Everyone on the tables get the same Agape, not just the pilgrims.
Prayer is the most important Agape – Call the prayer chief to let them know you are ready to sign up.
How much Agape should be made?
For Walks: 51 for Conference Room and 25 Pilgrims, 75 for all Pilgrims, CRC and ST.
For Face to Face: 36 total for Pilgrims and Table Leaders only.
How to pack Agape?
Agape should be packed into clear Ziploc bags and labeled with Event # and final count with a Sharpie marker.
Determine where/when agape can be used?
The EVENT agape team will have the final say as to when and where agape will be used according to the theme of each day. If agape needs to be picked up, one can call a member of the Agape/Prayer Committee; otherwise, it can be brought to a gathering, given to the EVENT Support Team leader, or dropped off at the UCUMC Church office (they will call CLD or Liaison).
Are there any suggestions about what to make?
Click on this link for some Agape Suggestions.
What happens with leftover Agape?
All food agape will be given away or trashed, including candy. All leftover non-food agape gets passed on to Face to Face Encounters since they do not require the same kinds of agape for everyone.
Can I personalize Agape with the pilgrims/caterpillars and team members’ names?
Personalized agape cannot be used, but if it is known, it must be for the pilgrim’s ride home with the Sponsor or after the Event is over.
There was a special piece of Agape that I received on my walk, should I make it?
Of course, remember what meant the most to you – It may have the same impact on someone else.
What about special Agape or gifts for the pilgrim / caterpillar I have sponsored?
Special Gifts for your pilgrim are for the ride home. NEVER LEAVE AGAPE IN A PILGRIM’S ROOM!
What about special Agape?
Call the Lay Director/Board Rep if you want to know about special needs.
What about food Agape?
Sponsors should bring pilgrims’ favorite snacks to share in the CR; however, in most cases, snacks are provided by team members or New Life Emmaus. Home-cooked meals are not allowed, but cakes and cookies are welcome.
Where can agape be left?
Agape can be dropped off at the UCUMC Church office, at gatherings, or given to a member of the Agape/Prayer Committee or the EVENT Support Team leader.
